About the Project
A Festival Built Around Stories
IFFJK was envisioned as a cinematic bridge between filmmakers, audiences, cultures, and creative voices.
Our role was to transform that vision into a visual experience that could live across screens, spaces, campaigns, and the festival itself.
From the identity system to promotional communication and on-ground branding, we created a visual language that gave the festival one recognisable voice across every touchpoint.
From Symbol to a Festival Identity
How do you make a festival instantly recognisable?
The challenge wasn't simply to design a logo.
It was to create an identity capable of carrying
cinema, culture, place, and emotion
without making the visual language feel traditional
or predictable.
We explored elements from Jammu & Kashmir alongside
familiar cinematic symbols, searching for a visual
connection that felt both
rooted and contemporary.
The creative direction focused on:
Inspired by the visual character of Jammu & Kashmir.
Built around storytelling, film, movement, and visual drama.
Designed to feel modern, international, and adaptable.
Created to work across hundreds of festival touchpoints.
Where the Identity Began
Sketches became symbols
Before the final mark came exploration.
We studied mountains, Chinar leaves, Dal Lake,
Shikaras, traditional patterns, cinema elements,
film reels, cameras, projectors, and other visual cues
connected to the region and the world of cinema.
Different ideas were sketched, simplified,
combined, and refined.
The objective was to find a symbol that could represent:
Jammu & Kashmir + Cinema + Celebration
The Idea Takes Shape
A symbol with a story
The final IFFJK mark brings together
cinematic symbolism and regional character
into one distinctive visual form.
The deer-inspired silhouette, film-reel element,
and structured typography create an identity that
feels connected to both
the landscape and the language of cinema.
It became the visual signature carried throughout the festival.
Recognisable. Adaptable. Cinematic.
Designing the Conversation
Before audiences entered the festival, they met it online
The social media design system transformed important
festival information into engaging visual stories.
From “What is IFFJK?” and festival
introductions to participation campaigns, cultural
storytelling, announcements, and countdowns, each
creative was designed to move audiences from
curiosity → interest → participation.
Designed for:
Awareness · Engagement · Participation · Information · Countdown
One Identity. Many Stories.
A film festival constantly creates new stories
We built a flexible graphic system that allowed
every campaign to feel fresh while remaining
unmistakably IFFJK.
From filmmaker submissions to
“Why IFFJK?”, festival invitations,
eligibility communication, and countdown campaigns,
the same visual DNA continued across every creative.
Different messages. One visual voice.
Turning Information Into Invitation
Your story could be next
Submission campaigns needed to do more than provide information.
They needed to make filmmakers feel that
their work belonged on this stage.
We created visually engaging communication for filmmaker
eligibility, submission instructions, categories, deadlines,
and participation, making complex information easier to
understand and more compelling to act upon.
Building Anticipation
60 days. 30 days. 7 days. Then… Showtime
Countdown creatives transformed time into momentum.
Each stage of the campaign increased anticipation while
retaining the festival's visual language from early awareness
to the final “The Wait Is Finally Over” moment.
Every countdown became part of the story.
When the Identity Leaves the Screen
From pixels to physical experiences
The IFFJK identity didn't stop at digital campaigns.
It moved into the physical festival environment through
badges, lanyards, wristbands, venue branding,
entrances, displays, and event graphics.
The objective was simple:
Make the audience feel the brand wherever they went.
Every Detail Carries the Identity
A festival experience is built from small details
Media badges, participant credentials, lanyards, and
wristbands were designed as functional brand touchpoints
combining
clear information, accessibility, and visual consistency.
The identity became something attendees could
wear, carry, and experience.
From Arrival to Red Carpet
The festival became a physical canvas
The visual identity came alive through venue environments,
illuminated branding, entrance installations, and event spaces.
Rich colour, cultural motifs, cinematic elements, and
consistent branding transformed the physical environment
into an extension of the festival's digital identity.
The screen became the space.
One Festival. One Visual Language.
Across the project, the identity evolved into a complete graphic ecosystem

More Than Graphics.
A Visual Experience.
IFFJK needed an identity that could tell stories, build anticipation, communicate information, and live beyond the screen.
We created a visual system that connected cinema with culture, digital with physical, and individual creatives with one larger festival story.
From the first sketch to the final frame —
We designed the experience people remembered.
Have a story worth visualising?
